Good morning. It’s Friday, August 21st.

DeepSeek Harness has now become the fastest growing repo in GitHub history (think of it as Claude Code for DeepSeek) check out this quick overview video here.

Your team’s new support player

Stax Payments, a Hubspot customer, now books 80% more meetings with the exact same team they had before.

No new hires. No new territories. Just HubSpot's Prospecting Agent finding the right accounts, surfacing the right contacts, and drafting outreach that actually gets responses.

Your best rep is great because they know who to go after and when. Prospecting Agent gives every rep that same starting point.

Anthropic lines up an IPO to rival SpaceX's

Anthropic has told investors it expects its offering to match or exceed SpaceX's record, which raised $75 billion base and $86.2 billion with the overallotment. It could file publicly as soon as the end of this month. Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan are leading, and the company is exploring super-voting shares for Dario Amodei and his co-founders. Its last private round raised $65 billion at a $965 billion valuation in May.

The Q2 numbers underneath it are the reason. Anthropic booked $11.6 billion in revenue with a $559 million operating profit, against OpenAI's $6.7 billion and a $12.3 billion operating loss. OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar has separately told staff the company will be public in 2027 or sooner, which is a harder sell against a rival that is already profitable.

The debt markets are moving in the same direction. Broadcom is seeking more than $60 billion for an AI chip deal that benefits Anthropic among others, structured as a senior secured tranche with a Broadcom guarantee plus roughly $30 billion junior, with Blackstone and Apollo in talks. The full package could reach $100 billion.

Worth keeping in view: none of these are audited figures. OpenAI's numbers are leaked internals reported by the Wall Street Journal, Anthropic's adjusted-profit methodology is undisclosed, and the IPO size is an expectation rather than a filed range. Every company here declined to comment.

Google now lets publishers pin preferred sources across Search and AI

Google just launched a "Preferred Sources" button that publishers can embed directly on their websites. When readers click it, that outlet gets pinned as a trusted source across Search, Discover, Google News, AI Overviews, and AI Mode. Discover is also adding conversational prompt controls so users can describe feed preferences in natural language, while Android users get customizable audio briefings in Google News.

For advertisers, Google Ads AI Max gained multi-campaign A/B testing and Performance Planner tools starting in September, making it easier to test ROI targets and budget changes alongside brand and location guardrails. For developers, Google AI Studio added full bi-directional GitHub integration to manage repositories, pull requests, and merges directly inside the workspace UI.

A new dedicated student hub was also launched featuring dynamic 3D models, syllabus-based calendar scheduling, diagnostic quizzes, and free Google AI subscription tiers.

Meanwhile, DeepMind is testing "Backstory," an experimental tool that chains C2PA metadata scans, SynthID watermarks, manipulation detection, and reverse image searches into automated verification reports.

Google Cloud also confirmed it is hiring hundreds of forward-deployed AI engineers across global hubs. Following models used by OpenAI and Anthropic, these engineers will embed directly with enterprise customers and systems integrators like Accenture, Deloitte, and TCS to move AI projects into production, while Google deploys internal context-creating agents to automate that delivery layer over time.

Meta rolls out ‘Pocket’ app for AI-built mini-games

Meta is rolling out its Pocket app in the US, allowing users to build interactive mini-games from simple text prompts. These "gizmos" react to touch, device movement, and camera input, and can be published, remixed, and shared through a vertical feed. Built after acquiring the Gizmo team, Pocket replaces the original app as Meta uses AI-assisted development to ship standalone products faster. That creation push extends directly into video generation.

Muse Video entered closed beta with select partners, producing 10-second clips with native audio. While early tests show strong visual detail and scene consistency, fast-motion physics and audio-video synchronization still need work. Meta plans to eventually distribute Muse Video across Meta AI, Vibes, Instagram, Facebook, and Edits.

On the desktop, the new Meta AI Mac app introduced screen sharing and system-wide dictation. The app can inspect open windows, generate content, and connect with Instagram, Facebook, ad accounts, and Google Workspace to analyze performance or build documents and spreadsheets, converting Meta's earlier Hatch agent experiments into an integrated desktop workspace.
